This is a poem I wrote, May 17, 2003, for a contest, hope you like it. She did and they did, it was published!!!
My Wife Thickets of brown and gray, Cascading down to a subtle peach; Eyes of brown, so filled with light, Past the cheeks to a smile that's bright.
Tender skin, so pale and soft, Not blemish free, but close enough; Averagely reaching toward the sky, This feeling I get, shall never die.
Pleasant pedals sweep by her feet, Can't help but watch her as she sleeps; Preparing to burst, avert my eyes, In her presence, I can tell no lies.
Awake and free, her spirit chimes, Alighting ones mind to olden times; So simple is her pleasure, a knowing look fits just right, Each time the day passes to night.
My reverence holds me fine, Through all our precious time; Newborn feelings every day, Make me long, while she's away.
Loving touches, caring glances, Cast aside doubt and took my chances; Best decision I ever made, Was put into words on our wedding day.
Dressed in white, looking angelic, So perfect it was, I just can't tell it; Floating down the aisle as if on clouds, We professed our love through our vows.
She is mine and I am hers, Till death we part so go the words; Upon her death I too shall die, To continue forth would be a lie.
One last thing I have to say, I love my wife more every day; Her love and caring get me through, Making each meeting seem like new.
