They say the eyes are the windows to the soul.  How can we truly say you've lived until we have held someone else's soul in our hands?  I like to think I see the world through others' eyes as well as my own.  Here is a sampling of my visions from your perspectives.

Resisting The Urge

With every waking moment, I
Squelch the beast that hides inside;
To give it merit or form,
would be the prescription of my doom.

Driving back the urge to destroy,
The gifts we are given as mere boys;
Tools which allow the dark side in,
Tools to create a persona bleak and dim.

These tools of which I speak,
Are filled with an odd implacable stench;
The ability to kill without remorse,
With fist or gun or knife or wrench.

How as Americans can we say, your life is worthless and
useless is thee who will not walk along with me?

Sanity Revisited

Light fades to dark as I drift to sleep,
Countless visions enter my thoughts;
Withered corpses of days gone by,
Friends forgotten and memories lost.

Sea of loathing set aside,
As paradise creeps in;
Voices telling me it will be ok,
Helping me to go forth another day.

Trading these blissful dreams,
For waking hours and hectic paces;
Thanking God for the right,
To participate in these rat races.

Knowing full well,
That sleep awaits me;
Returning home to nestle in,
Returning to my wife, curling up by her
side and reveling in my Return to Sanity.

Tear Down Your Walls

Defensive dwellings to keep us out,
The world still slowly turns about;
With these bunkers, in which we hide,
We keep the mortals from getting inside.

How Dark and sinister, the goings on,
Which these walls hide from dusk till dawn;
Take your lead from China and Germany,
Help the world to live in harmony.

Tear down your defensive barriers,
Let in the masses and out the warriors;
To live in peace and walk the streets,
Then your world will be complete.

Friends aplenty and new ones to make,
Some may not be true, but you will spot the fakes;
Open to new experiences and see,
How much happier all will seem.
